She also was an active member of the congregation and sang in the Chancel Choir of the First United Methodist Church in Rogers.Īfter 20 years in Arkansas, Pat and Jim moved to Norman, Okla., where they were members of McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church. Pat was one of only four people at the time to receive a lifetime membership in the National Chamber of Commerce. She was chair of the Ambassadors and Blue Coats of the Rogers Chamber of Commerce. There, Pat worked for the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce and was active in the Republican Women’s Club and Beaver Shores Women’s Club. Jim retired from Mobil in Hamburg, and they moved back to the United States where they built a retirement home on Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas. Pat was also president of the American Women’s Club in Hamburg. She worked in this capacity for seven years during the Reagan administration. ![]() This experience gave her opportunities to meet several heads of state and visit the capital cities of Europe and Russia. She traveled much in her capacity and worked with U.S. She attended the organizational meeting for all of Europe at the Ambassador’s residence in Paris. While there, Pat was asked by “Republicans Abroad” to organize and chair a chapter in northern Germany. Shortly thereafter, they were transferred to Hamburg, West Germany. Later that year, they married and she joined him in Colorado where he was working for Mobil Oil. Together, they remembered their wonder years, growing up in Anadarko in the 1930s. In 1979 at her 30th high school reunion, Pat reunited with her life-long friend, Jim Givens. She was a member and sang in the Chancel Choir of the First United Methodist Church there. She was supportive and involved in her boys’ sports activities, going to golf, tennis and baseball tournaments and games.Īfter her divorce, she moved back to Anadarko where she was CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. While in California, she met and married William Collins in 1950, and they had three sons – Dennis, Scott and Tim. She graduated from Hamilton High School in Culver City, Calif. Because of her small stature, she recalled having to stand on top of tables so people could see her sing. After her father joined the Navy in World War II, she performed for USO groups along his tour of duty in addition to several community service organizations. She passed from this life October 9, 2022, at the age of 91.Īt an early age, Pat began singing for people. Patricia Ann Lamb was born October 3, 1931, in Anadarko, Okla., to Chester Francis Lamb and Mina Jane Smith Lamb.
